Ella, Bree and Jax had their 1st t ball practice on Thursday. Bree has played for the past two years, but Jax and Ella joined the Party Animals this year.

This season should be funny to say the least.

Bryan is coaching again . When Ella payed enough attention to notice that B was helping someone else she would day, "I want my Daddy back."

When someone hit the ball she would run towards it (as all other 9 players did).

She didn't care if she got it or not, but would run back to me and say, "That's fun, Mommy!" or "We did it. We did it."

She also really enjoyed throwing red dirt on Bree when she wasn't looking. LOL

I just had a conversation with Ella Claire while trying to get ready for her cousin's birthday party that went something like this...(keep in mind she just turned 2)

EC: "That not match, Momma!"
Me: "Yes, it does, Ella."
EC: "No, it ain't" (LOL)
Me: "Yes, it does, Ella Claire."
EC: "It matches? Okay."

A few minutes later, I pulled a pair of her shoes from her closet that she has never worn before and she stated, "Those don't fit, Momma."

Seriously, am I already having this conversation?

Breelyn Caroline's Birthday Bash

My niece, Breelyn, turns 4 tomorrow. I don't know where the time has gone. That little girl changed my life from the moment I saw her come into this world....She's an angel.

Ella Claire adores her and she's her "bestie" in the whole world. I hope they are always close.

Bree's Hello Kitty party was last night at the Manchester Rec Center. All I can say is...Wesley sure can throw a party. (I'm glad she's Ella Claire's aunt..hint hint.) We had tons of food, swimming in the outdoor and indoor pool, awesome cake, the cutest Hello Kitty pops and the coolest treat bags. (Wes, Ella loves the Hello Kitty socks, notepad and bracelets.) The kids even enjoyed playing Simon Says and Red Light, Green Light with the one and only David Craven. :) It was a blast!!!

Ella Claire has one of those "yucky" 2-day before Christmas birthdays. Bryan has said, since she was born, that he wanted to try and do something special on her 1/2 birthday each year. We were a little late with this one, but I don't think she minds. :) We also wanted to get the play set early. So, she can play this fall.

Funny Story on B - I thought we were going to get a smaller (less expensive) version. We had been looking for several months. Bryan told me to just go order it one afternoon, but I wanted him to go with me. When we got there, Bryan started asking how much to add this... and this. This is what Daddy decided on.

Notice the solar lights next to the slide. I asked him when we got home, if he was planning on letting her play in the dark. LOL Seriously, Ella Claire and I learned to take Daddy shopping with us. Being a daddy's girl sure pays off.......

This video is when Ella Claire saw it for the 1st time. (Please ignore the temper tantrum in the beginning. She thought we were making her go inside. I typically do not reward her for bad behavior. LOL)

Ella Claire and I have both been sick today, but I wanted to take a minute to wish Bryan a Happy Father's Day. We gave him our surprises this morning and then he had to take care of us this afternoon. Thanks for all that you do for your girls, Bryan. The sermon at church this morning really made me think about how lucky Ella Claire and I are. Time with us is never an issue with you. Ella and I always know that we are your first priority. Our lives are better because of the man that you ARE. You are the love of my life and the most amazing father and uncle. I am extremely blessed that you are my husband, but even more to have you as my best friend. I don't know where I would be without you. Your love and support mean more than you will ever know. I love watching you with our daughter. She adores you more than I do (if that's possible). Thank you for everything. We love you!

My grandparents just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary last month. I love, admire and adore these two people more than I can ever put into words.

They make trips to town weekly to see Ella Claire and Bree. They have been two of the most influential people in my life by simply being themselves.

My 81-year old grandad crawls around on the floor playing chase with Ella Claire. My granny calls Ella Claire everyday and chuckles while she jabbers back.

I love these memories! I will treasure them all of my life.

Well, after several incidents of Ella Claire (A) taking her diaper off and going potty in the floor or (B) taking a yucky diaper off (when I haven't been around) and having it everywhere....we purchased this for her. I still think she is a little young, but several people have told us that she may just be ready. So, we're starting to introduce the potty to her. Wish us luck!!

For those of you with easy happy babies...you may not understand this milestone. Don't get me wrong Ella Claire is the happiest little girl in the world now, but all of this stems from the colic days. We did anything and everything to get her to sleep peacefully. So, we've rocked, bounced, patted and shushed for more hours than we could count.

Bryan and I are really torn about our little girls most recent milestone. Ella Claire has recently started putting herself to sleep at night. While I know this is much better for her, we (especially the man in our home) are just plain sad. We have talked with her ped since about 9 months about this. She suggested that we quit rocking her to sleep then, but we just couldn't do it. Ella Claire cried and cried. Sometimes even for an hour or so when we tried this. It was unbearable. She would jump up and down in the bed screaming, "Momma" or "Daddy." So, we kinda figured that she's only little once, right? We'll rock her probably until she's 10. LOL

WRONG...The last several weeks at bed time she has rocked for about a minute. Then, she's laid down in her bed and gone right to sleep on her own. She has always been a very light sleeper, but this all started because we got to the point where we couldn't even lay her down without waking her up. She was just ready to do this bedtime thing on her own. I can't count the number of times Bryan has gone in to check on her to find her fast asleep. He, then, comes to me with a big frown...each time saying, "she doesn't need me at bedtime anymore."

Oh, I dread the days to come when he comes to me with that look because she's outgrown us.

Grandad celebrating 81 years

We have been on a whirlwind since last Thursday, which was Bryan's (29th) and my Grandad's (81st) birthday. We ate at Boskey's with Bryan's parents Thursday night and then came back to our house to meet my family for Grandad/Bryan's birthday get together. Bryan, I know I didn't get to make a post on Thursday, but I hope you liked the sign your girls made you. I hope you enjoy your golf lessons with the Pro, too. We love you more than you could possibly know. Sometimes I still can't believe your mine. Thank you for all that you do for us and for being the most amazing husband and father. You are such a blessing in everyone's life that you touch.

Friday we spent some time in Gran and Bim's basement while the tornado and storms passed and had a fun day togther at home.

Saturday we finally finished our taxes and we also had a planning meeting at Boskey's for my 10 year high school reunion. I can't believe I've been out of high school that long. It was so good to see my friends. I look forward to our monthly visits so much.

Sunday was packed full of Easter activities. We were glad to have Tyler and Jenna at church with us Sunday morning. We can't wait till Jenna is officially a Hillis. She's already a member of our family though. We had family in from Alabama also and Ella Claire felt she had to show out for Aunt Mel.

And, tommorow is Wesley Caroline's 21st birthday. On one hand, it's hard for me to believe my baby sister is 21, but on the other hand she seems much older to me. Wes, I'm very proud of you. You are truly an amazing mother. I love you and wish you a lifetime of happiness. I'm so glad that you are my sister.

PS -We had fun with you, Ryan and Bree last night at Boskey's. (I told Bryan on the way home I need a break from Boskey's. We've eaten there 3 times in week for different occasions. )

Well, I've been sucked in.......by my husband of all people. Bryan's students begged to watch Twilight last week. He came home and asked me to watch it Friday night. I unwillingly amused him. From the beginning of all the hype I just thought, "that's not my thing." I have never been into fantasy/science fiction type stuff.

Now, I've watched the movie twice and am reading the first book. I'm planning to borrow the others from a friend and am anxious to find out what happens.

I've learned not to judge a book by it's cover (or genre).

This morning my sweet hubby got up and ready for school. He went to pour his bowl of cereal and realized that we only had enough for one of us. So, what did he do? He left his breakfast on the table for me. He's just that kind of guy. He's so good to Ella Claire and me. I don't tell him often enough how much I appreciate him.

Bryan has been asked by a Conservative Bloggers group to be a contributor. He's also been asked recently to consider becoming more involved in our community in various ways. Check out his blog below at A Conservative's Conscience. I am so proud of him. I love watching him with his kids at The Academy. He wants to make a difference. I admire him so much for that, but what he doesn't know is.....he already has.

Ella Claire was 15 months yesterday. I meant to get this posted earlier, but had a very long 13 hour workday yesterday. Ella Claire had a very fun filled day with her Daddy though. Thanks, B, for taking off and doing pretty much everything on your own yesterday. Love you and you are a pretty awesome Dad!

Can I just say that...... I AM LOVING THIS AGE!!!!!!! She is so much fun right now and her personality is showing so much more. Her smile and laugh is so infectious.

She loves being outside and playing basketball with her Daddy. She loves to help me load or in her case "unload" the dishwasher.
She loves to sing "The Wise Man." (actually she thinks the foolish man's part is more fun cause his house goes splat)
She is starting to bite...just ask Bree.
She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and the movie Enchanted.
She has started not wanting to get out of the car when we get home. When we unbuckle her she says, "No" and shakes her head.
She loves to streak around the house. I don't know why I spend so much on clothes when she would much rather be in the buff. :)
She is still drinking her milk from a bottle. She'll drink anything from a sippy cup but whole milk. HELP! We've tried every kind of cup and a few other things to entice her, but no luck.
She has a little temper! I guess she got the best of both the Matheny and Hillis temper. She definitely has a mind of her own. My grandad says, "We're in for it."
She loves any kind of fruit. (but is otherwise a picky eater)
She loves to look at all of her books.
She just started wearing my shoes around the house. Sooo cute!
She is climbing on everything. I can't turn my head for a second or she is on top of the breakfast table before I know it.
She is very independent and wants to do everything herself. She has also started playing and entertaining herself with her toys and books. It's so funny to watch.
She loves to give kisses. (I love when she gives kisses...even puppy dog kisses. She thinks licking us is hysterical.)
She loves to jump while saying, "jump." She is saying a lot more....like cat, dog, Berkley (our dog), juice, jump, no, momma, daddy, gran, bree, pa, ball and so much more. She jabbers in Swahili constantly! I think she is gifted. LOL

I have been given the ok and am so excited that.....

Cheryl and Rob are expecting baby Hyland in early October.

All I can say about this lady is that I love her more than she will ever know. We met in high school and almost instantly formed a bond. (We're like Anne and Diana of Anne of Green Gables. We're kindred spirits.) I think God brought her to me because he knew there would never be another CHERYL. We've lived in different cities for the last ten years now, but I can't imagine how I would have survived the last 12 without her. I never wonder if we'll be friends 20 years from now. We think so much alike sometimes that it's scary. We've even been known to pick out the same Christmas card while in different parts of the state. :) We've been through so much together....bad times and good times. I've shared so many phases of my life with her. I don't deserve her, but am so very thankful that she is in my life. She is the perfect example of a friend and I know she will be the same, as a mother. I love you, Burr and am so so excited about this baby!

Well...my Mom, Sis and Bree Bree are all off to Disney World. I just dropped them off. We could have gone, but I don't think Ella Claire would have enjoyed the busride there and back (plus she's too small for most of the rides) and I just couldn't leave her (or Bryan). LOL So, I guess we'll wait till next year to tag along with the cheerleaders.

I have been so excited about this movie. We have Netflix and I have had it ready for weeks to arrive today (the release date). I actually saw Kirk Cameron on The Today Show awhile back promoting this movie. I knew I wanted to see it then. The movie sparked my attention (all of the actors were volunteers and didn't get paid), but the way he talked about his wife made me even more curious. Anyway, Bryan and I watched it tonight (and we're buying it). It's a great movie. I recommend it to those who are married (even if you have a good marriage) and even to those who aren't married, but one day may be married. Let me know what you thought about the movie.

So, my next post will be about marriage and what I've learned about being married so far. :) I'm sure Bryan will be curious about this one. LOL

I've struggled for a long time with posting things about my faith on this blog. I haven't wanted to offend anyone or push my beliefs. However, I'm at the point in my life and walk where it's more important to me to share this. I struggle with confidence and wanting to please others. It's my nature to need approval. I work with young girls on a daily basis who also battle with this. Many of them struggle with self image and knowing who they are. Building self esteem starts at home. I know this and I work with my families on this. Tonight I wonder...what will I do that will impact my daughter's self worth. My actions, my words, my example influences her even at 13 months. My prayer is that God will guide me while helping to shape this precious little girl.

One more thought for today. Relationships are so important to us. I love my friends. In fact, I recently have reconnected with some of my dearest friends in the world. I simply adore my husband and family means the world to me. But, why do we let relationships with other people take precedence over a relationship with God. I'm guilty of this, but it's foolish to expect other people to supply what only God can.

I'm a little nervous about admitting my struggles and flawdness to the world. I'm learning lessons about myself that I want Ella Claire to learn much earlier in her life. I'm inpatient. I'm selfish. I'm too sensitive at times. I worry too much and sweat the small stuff. I'm not always as kind as I should be. I'm but I am HIS. (and I'm working on the rest. )

Things I want Ella to know about her Mommy....

I have been SICK (all last weekend and some this week). I mean in the bed sick...asleep for 48 hours...only venturing out to visit the potty and fridge. So, I was extremely thankful that Bryan was off to help with Ella Claire and help take care of me.

Before I got to the "sleep it off" stage, I was tossing and turning and had a lot of time to think because I didn't feel like doing anything else. Bryan and I also watched The Family Man (one of our favs) which got me to thinking.

What things would I want Ella Claire to know about me, if something were to happen to me? I know this is a sad thing to sit and ponder on, but I'm a planner. So it's important to me to make preparations and talk about these things with Bryan. Before we went to sleep last night I asked Bryan to tell me some of the things that he would tell Ella Claire about me......should something happen. Before I knew it tears were pouring down. It was just so overwhelming. We talked forever about things that we would want the other one to share with Ella Claire. Oh, how I pray that we never have to go through something like that.

I'm thinking about starting a journal to her though. I just feel this tugging at my heart. A have a few clients who lost their mother in an accident when they were small. I have a best friend who lost her mother to cancer. My father-in-law lost his mother when he was only 14 to cancer. It's important to me that Ella Claire know me, know my likes and dislikes, my quirks, my faults. So, I'm also going to start writing other things on this blog. This started out with the intent of being mainly about her as a way to document her first year and let relatives keep up with her. I've seen blogs made into little keepsake books and that has been my intent since I started. I've just tried to stay away from certain topics. However, I may blog about different things in the future.

If you read my blog often please remember: 1. This is something I am starting to help my daughter have a better glimpse of who I am. I have decided to share some things with my readers (who may all be my immediate family), but my audience is truly one. 2. You don't have to agree with me. I hope I do not offend anyone. However, I have friends who I completely disagree with on many issues, but I continue to have great respect for them. They challenge me. 3. I may write more about things that are on my mind. I have always loved writing. It's my therapy!

I realized through all of this how lucky I am to "know" my mother. I know....... she is a night-owl. She is a wonderful cook. I know she can't ride five minute in the car without falling asleep. I know she enjoys coaching cheerleading. I know she's loyal. I know she loves Gone With the Windand Patricia Cornwell. She is addicted to eBay and shopping for her girls, Bree and Ella. She's the only woman my Daddy has ever loved. She loves peanut m&m's and every once in awhile a payday. (do you remember those?) She drives too fast and therefore stops too fast. :) She tries to be good to everyone, but has learned over the years to take up for herself. She wants to do the right thing. She's human. She's not perfect. In fact, she hurts my feelings sometimes, but I'm just glad she's here to hurt my feelings. I can't imagine who I would be today or what my life would have been like without her. I love you, Mom.

Bryan and I are watching Fireproof this week. I can't wait!

Ella Claire has been sick-o. She had her 1st ear infection last week and really has just not been herself for about two weeks now. Then, last night she broke out in HIVES. She was pitiful and I was a mess. LOL I've had a crazy week with work. Now, I'm not feeling so great myself, but two people have really tried to cheer me up.

My hubby - I'll post the story later, but he FINALLY pulled a great surprise off. We honestly have a hard time keeping secrets...even good ones, like Christmas, birthday and anniversary gifts. He did this time though for 3 whole days (that's a record for us). LOL He bought ME a new camera (just because), but HE can't stop playing with it. Wes says I'm so spoiled! :) In fact, I think she called me a brat. LOL

Sweet Kandice Patrick - Thanks so much for my new camera strap slipcover. I LOVE IT. Kandice knew how bad I have been coveting one of these and sent me an email saying that she had something for me. I've entered about 10 contests to try and win one of these....and now I have one. She has also been working so hard on my goodies that I won in her giveaway. Sooo cute! I've had several people ask me about Ella's cakes. The Kake Lady from Manchester made them. They were fabulous. They tasted as good as they looked. The snowflakes were formed from white chocolate and the cutouts were fondant. Both layers of the main cake were strawberry and french vanilla with butter cream icing. Sooooo good!

I also wanted to thank Paula for making Ella Claire's snowflake sugar cookies for her party. They were wonderful. I honestly hated to eat them because they were so pretty. Ella is a big fan of Ms. Paula's cookies and has been for awhile now. :) Check her out at Cookies by Paula. My favorites are her Molasses Spice cookies. They are to die for......:)

#2 February-March-April

These months are so blurry to me. They were the colic months and I thought I would never survive. Ella Claire has always slept, but unless she was asleep.....she was crying. She slept on top of one of us throughout the colic months. She would wake up every time she touched the bassinet. She cried so much that it was honestly easier to hold her 24/7. I was still off of work for these months. So, basically I nursed her and held her around the clock. Did I mention that I had to pump for 45 minutes after every feeding session? All I have to say is I'm glad those "overproduction" days are long gone. I felt like a 24/7 buffet. Veronica cleaned my teeth today and I told her I felt like some days during this colic time I did good to take a shower and brush my teeth after Bryan got home from work. (My mommy friends who had babies with colic understand this..LOL)

However, a very very small part of me wishes that I could go back and hold that tiny precious fussy baby again. She was mine......crying and all. :)

In February: Ella Claire made her 1st trip to Wal-Mart. It was horrible and we vowed "we we're never doing that again." She also stayed for the 1st time at Aunt Veronica's. Veron, Alli and Jax kept her while we ran to eat at Applebee's for Valentine's Day. We had a horrible time because we couldn't think about anything else but her and were back within a hour. She also went to her 1st birthday party - Connor Williams. She was in her 1st fashion show for Sew Sweet at the mall and she was just precious.......because she slept the whole time. :) She starting smiling and noticing more things this month. She weighed 11.1 pounds at 2 months and was 23 1/4 inches long.

In March: She played outside for the first time. She started really smiling and blowing lots of spit bubbles. She was still crying, but only at certain times of the day now. She tried juice for the first time due to some potty problems. She started staying with Aunt Wes for a few hours at a time while I slowly worked my way back into work.

In April: She slept for about 6 hours at night. She was laughing a lot. She was very close to rolling over. She weighed 12 lbs. and 2 oz. She had her first taste of cereal and pear juice. She was a little skinny at this point. So we had to work on gaining some weight.

#3 May-June

May: We kissed colic goodbye and were able to actually leave the house!!!I was determined to get her on a schedule. I decided one night that she was going to sleep in her bed and from that night on she has. She loved it. Bryan had a much harder time with moving her to her bed.....all the way downstairs than either Ella Claire or myself did. He was pretty pitiful that first week. Since I held her all day, he usually slept with her on top of him all night. He had serious withdrawals. While I'm talking about Bryan I have to mention what a huge source of support he was during those colic months. He got up with me every time Ella Claire woke up. Every time she got up to eat, he got up with us. He would pass her off and make sure we were settled. He has been the most amazing father to her. It has always melted my heart to see how much he adores and wants to protect our little angel. She started sleeping through the night on May 5th. She slept 9 hours in her crib the very first night I put her in it. We went to Bree's very 1st t-ball game. She rolled over for the 1st time. We had our first sleep over at Aunt Wesley's (all 3 of us Bryan, Ella Claire and myself stayed with Wes and Bree one night). She stayed with Aunt Nini and Granny Ruthie for the 1st time for a few hours. She went to Alli's birthday party and started baby food. She LOVED peas.

June: She loved loved loved baby food. Her favorites were peas, bananas, pears, applesauce and sweet potatoes. She's like her Daddy and has a sweet tooth. She was rolling around everywhere. She said Ma-Ma for the 1st time (and I had witnesses LOL.) We went to Birmingham to visit Aunt Mel and Uncle Sam. She loved swimming at their house. Then we went on to the beach at SeaSide. She loved the water and sand. She even ate some. She went to her 1st wedding at the beach. She stayed with Nanny and Pa for the 1st time this month.

Ella Claire around a month old

Ella Claire will be 1 in one week. Since it's so close to Christmas we are having "birthday week." I'm going to give her a present everyday until Monday (when we are having her birthday party). Then, Tuesday on her actual birthday we are going to just have a fun play day with her to celebrate. Then....our Christmas festivities start on Wednesday. She's not going to know that to think after the next two weeks. LOL

I'm also going to post special things about her everyday this week. Stay tuned for lots of pictures and birthday stories. :)

Post #1 about Ella Claire:

January - Ella Claire was very demanding from day one. She cried a lot and colic set in early. We thought we would never survive those early weeks and months. I really think God was trying to teach me patience. He succeeded.....somewhat! :) Anyone who has survived true colic knows what I'm talking about. She was worth every hour....or day.... that we didn't sleep, every nervous break down LOL, and round the clock nursing and pumping sessions. Yes, on top of colic.....we had trouble nursing, but I was determined and we made IT. :)

Some notes I made in December/January (I'm saving her birth story until next Tuesday): We came home on Christmas eve.......after some heavy pleading at the hospital. We actually stayed 3 nights with Gran and Bim before going to our home. Bryan helped finger feed her (like a little puppy due to nursing issues) for a few days after we came home. It was so sweet!....Ella Claire was way over birth weight in only a week. Pa Jackie was preaching at Cornerstone then...They had "Ella Claire Matheny Day" on Jan 13th. Ella Claire made her 1st Warren County Wrestling appearance in Jan. 15th. She slept 6 hours straight before she was a month old....only once though. They gave us the..."it's definitely colic," spill on Jan. 18th. She slept with us back then.....when she slept!!!!

I guess you have to know Ella Claire to appreciate this really. She never falls asleep anywhere unless she is being rocked or riding in the car. However, Wednesday afternoon I was working and Bryan was making dinner and this is what we found. I guess all this finally caught up with her too. We need a vacation after moving.

My sweet baby girl is growing so fast. She turned 11 months last Sunday. Here are a few things about her...

I am walking EVERYWHERE!

I am little Miss Independent. (She only wants to eat or drink what she can feed herself. She doesn't want anyone to help her. She wants to do everything herself. LOL)

I have 8 teeth now and have learned to BITE (and it hurts sooo bad). I think it is so funny when I hurt my Mommy.

I love chocolate. My Mommy and Daddy aren't happy about this one, but Nanny Matheny shared her breakfast of Sundrop and a Hershey's bar every morning while we stayed with her. That chocolate is some GOOD stuff. :)

I like to play the drums with my Mommy's pots and a spoon.

My hair is curly in the back.....very curly.

My favorite words right now are....Daddy, Baby, Bye, Pa, Jax and.....Momma, only when I'm tired or hurt.

I love to pretend that I am typing on Mommy's laptop. I can work, too. :)

I like to play chase with my Daddy up and down the hall at our new house. My Daddy is so silly.

I never sit still for 2 seconds at a time. If I'm awake I am on the go, go, go. I am very active and just a little high strung as my Mommy says. Whatever that means. :)

I have a little temper. I can throw a full out temper tantrum when I am mad cause, yes, I am a little drama princess. :)

due to moving all day Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday of last week. Then, I've had to work all day today to get caught up on WORK WORK (and I'm sick.) So, I'll try and post Halloween pictures of Ella the Elephant (if I can find my camera) this week.

The painter is moving right along on the house. Bryan and my favorite Heating and Air Man (Brent Craven) are starting on the tile this week and carpet has been ordered. Thank goodness the hardwood is in pretty good shape. Thanks goes to our wonderful friends Brent and Mendie Craven (and David and Brynn) for all of their help on Saturday. I know you had no idea what you were getting yourselves into, but we sure appreciate you guys. Sherwin Williams and Lowes have become our favorite hang outs lately and my new hobby is picking out fixtures and such it seems. LOL

And.......until further notice we are nomads. Right now we are staying with my in-laws. I'm sure after only one night they are rethinking this arrangement. (Watch out Gran and Bim)LOL Thanks, Nanny and Pa for taking us in until the house is ready.

1. I can take about 2 steps on my own now.

2. I absolutely adore my cousin Breelyn. She gets me so excited. (But I think she thinks I'm hers.) I kinda like that boy cousin Jaxsyn, too, but don't tell him. I get so jealous when my Daddy plays with him.

3. One of my favorite things to do is dance-dance-dance.

4. Mommy has to keep some sort of pants on me at all times because I like to take my diaper off. I think it's so funny. hehe I have managed to take my pants off too though. LOL

5. I have just started giving real kisses. Mommy says they are the BEST!

6. I love animals....especially cats and dogs.

7. Mommy can't keep me in shoes and clothes. I'm growing like a weed. She just bought some size 18 month clothes and a size 5 in shoes. (2 weeks ago I wore a size 3 shoe to the Autumn Street Fair)

8. I race to the stairs every time Mommy and Daddy look away. When they notice me and tell me no....I smile because I know I am faster than those ole geezers. :) (Mommy says she is glad our new house doesn't have stairs.)

9. I am paying more and more attention to the TV and my videos. I really like watching Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse with my Daddy.

10. I love to shake my head "No No." I've heard it so much lately.

We visited the Pumpkin Patch on Monday night with our church. (We really appreciate Central taking a group every year. It's such a fun activity and great time for fellowship with friends.) We had so much fun. Ella Claire had fun at the petting zoo, but didn't like it when the animals got loud. LOL She was amazed by the bonfire. She also seemed to really enjoy the hayride, but she had the most fun picking out her little pumpkin.

We can't wait for next year already.

Happy Birthday, Granny!

My Granny is 78 years old today. Wes and I gave her the nickname Ruthie years ago. She hated it at first, but I think it's grown on her. She at least answers when we call her that now. LOL She is the absolute best. She is such a source of support in our family. I don't know what I would do without her. When I lived in Nashville (for 4 years) there wasn't a week that went by that she didn't send me a card or letter. Sometimes I would get 2 in the same week. I still have most of them. :) She is a wonderful cook and gardener, but she is an even better mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Some of my fondest memories growing up are with Granny and Grandad and I still continue to talk to her daily. She doesn't read my blog unless Mel or NiNi show her the newest pictures/videos of Ella Claire. However, I'm hoping that they tell her that I made a special note on here of how blessed I am to have her as my "Ruthie." When I count my blessings.....I count her twice. :)

Home Sweet Home

We bought our first home today.

We are so excited. Before we were married Bryan and I went through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. It really helped us focus financially and get on the same page. Granted, we've splurged and not always been as strict as we should have. For the past 3 1/2 years we have prepared for this day. I think one thing that makes this so rewarding is that WE have worked and saved so hard ourselves to get here. We do have our land also (that we love) and may still build sometime, but this is our new home for now! :)

I have to say I am also sad to leave where we live now. It's been our only home as a married couple and as a family. I moved in 2 months before we were married and Bryan moved in after the honeymoon. Our neighbors, who own the house, have been wonderful to us. It will always be special to us.....for so many reasons.

This morning we dropped Ella Claire off at the jail with Nanny while we ran to the bank to close. On the way there Bryan was holding my hand. I looked over at him and said, "I'm glad I'm doing this with you." After he laughed at me for being my typical sentimental self, he said, "me, too."

Bryan-You are my best friend and I'm so proud that my little free spirit has become such a saver. I love you and I look forward to making lots of memories in this house together. Thank you for all that you do for your girls. I am thrilled with our new house, but my home is wherever you and Ella Claire are.

I can say 3 words, "ma ma," "da da" and "bye bye."
I have 6 teeth now. (3 top and 3 bottom)
My favorite toys are cords, lamps, coasters and blinds. (Anything I'm not supposed to have.)
I'm a girly girl! I have an eye for jewelry. If someone has it on...I want it.
I'm really wanting to walk. If I can just figure this balance thing out.
I'm a Daddy's girl and he loves it!
I like table food, but my Daddy is so nervous about giving it to me. I'm a good eater, but my favorites are mashed potatoes, green beans, carrots, bananas, peaches and crackers.
I usually sleep from 8:00 pm to 7:00 am.
I love to dance. Daddy turns on the music channel and I can bust a move.
